Best Practices

Target Images

This is the image you'll want app users to scan, and in theory, any image can be made into a target.
There are, however, some best practices:

  • Target must be a .jpg or .png
  • File must be smaller than 10 MB
  • Images with contrast work better
  • If working with a photo with lighting / weather conditions, try cropping your target before uploading
  • Example: If you're using a statue outside, try cropping tightly to the statue, removing the sky

Audio Projects

When scanned, app users will hear the audio of your podcast, commercial, or other uploaded audio file

  • Must be .mp3 format
  • File must be smaller than 30 MB

Email Projects

When scanned, a user will be sent their mail program with your entered email plugged into the To field

Link Projects

When scanned, a user will be sent to the URL you've set

  • Must include the protocol (http:// or https://)
  • If you want users to see a PDF, make sure your URL includes file path
  • Example: https://www.example.com/reports/example.pdf

Phone Projects

When scanned, a user will be be prompted to call the phone number you've entered

Photo Projects

When scanned, users will see the photo you've uploaded

  • Must be .jpg or .png format
  • File must be smaller than 10 MB
  • .png photos support alpha transparency in the app

Video Projects

When scanned, app users will watch the video you've uploaded

  • Must be .mp4 or .mov format
  • File must be smaller than 50 MB
  • Maximum video is 1280 x 720. For best cross-platform results, please use 960 x 540 or smaller.
  • For greenscreen videos, please set your key to #14FF00, or a similar color
